It's not what Trump says, it's what he would actually do.
We don't know the answer to that and won't know unless he gets elected.
Historically, presidential candidates are long on promises and short on action and results.

Trump has not held office.

Part of why people are interested in him, is that he has never been in politics..so of course he has no record of Conservative accomplishments..or ANY political accomplishments.

I know plenty of strong people who are also decent, kind, and honorable. Trump isn't one of them. Blowhards mistakenly assume that they can appear strong by being a$$es. Doesn't mean they are strong. Just means they are blowhard a$$es.

Most of what Trump says he intends to do would require that he be a dictator. So, unless he intends to seize power and kick the congress out of DC, he is just blowing smoke.

Being an ass doesn't make one strong..agreed.

But, assuming he's a blowhard and an ass like you say..it has hugely worked for him.

It can hugely work for all of us.

thing is that I KNOW what the 'jebito - roobio' types will do . Kasich just told me last night what he would do with 'syrian' invaders as he allows them to come to the USA . Christy is an Obama hugger but even without that he is a gun controller . carson is pro immigration and his only qualification is that he is polite . Fiorina , I don't really know her policies yet but I hear that she admires muslim civilization like mrobama does . Perry was pro illegal and pro immigration but I guess that he is gone . I'll take the chance on Trump or Cruz but is Cruz going anywhere . Anyway , I'll take Trumps promised action over the reality of the rinos actual records Bill .

one of the bushs as example was a 'compassionate conservative' and he sucked . The other 'bush' practiced conservatism while seeing a thousand points of light , he also sucked . roobio was in the 'gang of 8' and he sucks . Kasich will take 'syrian' invaders into the USA so he sucks . Christy is a gun controller so he sucks . Fiorina admires muslim civilization so she sucks . carson likes immigration so he sucks . I mentioned 'carson' but concerning 'carson' , think he has said that he likes immigration . He has said that he thinks 'semi autos' are ok for the country side but no good in cities . So based on that he won't get my vote . Thing with Trump and Cruz , I can also find fault with them but they seem to be the best to me when compared to the rest of the 'herd of rinos' Sue .

GFB, I've been a conservative since I was taught at the family table. if I can do something to help someone, I will. My parents taught me that. Both were volunteers whether it was brownies, girl scouts, school board, mayor (unpaid of course). Being kind isn't being liberal expecially when you're using your own money. I'd much rather have faith-based charities than government handouts. To be a real conservative, it's not "I'm in it for me!", it's finding a way to help people without using other people's money. I know many really wonderful conservatives that also follow that philosophy. I never asked anyone for money to help the wounded warriors. All I had to do was ask for information and one man took it upon himself to order computers and the software needed for those wounded to use computers. From that start, I watched a groundswell. Over 3 million dollars was donated by a group we belong to. No intermediary "charity" involved. Straight to where it was used. Not one red cent of government money was used. So you can call me a compassionate conservative. There are compassionate conservatives it's just that you've never even tried to be involved. It's now a derogatory term. How sad that it's come to that.

I think we're off the track of "Conservatism."

Conservatism is a political philosophy.

Yes, giving is good..helping is good..just not a defining characteristic of Conservatism.

I'm sure he's donated large sums..if for no other reason than for tax benefits..wealthy people on the left and the right do that..but they tend to give to different organizations.

well if my examples aren't good all I can say is that I don't like any of the socalled conservative rinos because none meet my criteria of being conservative . I do like Cruz and Trump , also note that Cruz and Trump are Friendly so looks like the Conservative Cruz approves a bit of Trump because it is Cruz that seeks out TRUMP . None of the rinos are conservative , I'll take a chance with TRUMP .

Carson is a nice man, very likable, I don't believe he is ready for the highest elected office in the Land.

COMPASSIONATE Conservative is a bad thing in a president because it is he that defines what the word compassion means plus he almost has the power of a 'king' . GWB tries an amnesty , well that's just the compassionate conservative thing to do but that's in his opinion , certainly wasn't my opinon . Different with a private person as their actions can't hurt the USA or ME Ann . Anyway , that's my reasoning . And 'jebito' is worse , he views illegal aliens as doing an act of LOVE and he calls himself a conservative . He is crazy and certainly not a Conservative !!
