I know you all probably get sick of hearing about my mishaps,but..

Leaving a customer in Addison yesterday, I turned west on to Frankford off of Midway. Everything in the truck, radio,A/C, etc just quits, its a diesel and the engine is running fine. I had the window open a couple of inches letting the heat out, so I had a bit of air coming in the truck. Get home after the battle on I-35E. Do a google search and find the issue is the ignition switch, fine I'll deal with it tomorrow.

This morning the phone is ringing off the hook, so Donna heads out to get the new switch while I start taking the truck apart (did someone doubt why we air conditioned the shop?) .

So I'm on the office phone, with the cell on hold when the office phone dies, and I hear screaming outside, I run to the door to see the concrete crew yelling at the truck driver to stop, he had the snorkel flipped up and had snagged the cable, the pole was whipping back and forth and he had torn down my phone and cable wires.

All that, with one hand tied behind his back, and he fended off numerous spammers on his discussion board.

See BigTex with everything else, as LL pointed out the spammers came out today with Nike's in their teeth, I forgot to log out as admin when I defeated the spammers after I got internet access back.

So I called my ISP and told them what happened, told them they would need not just a tech, but a tech with a bucket truck.Now the ISP are about the best at customer service I have ever run across. The phone guy laughed and said I've got no way to code this call, I said look for a concrete truck wrapped up in cable, and just make a note on the call out that a bucket truck is needed.

The tech shows up without a bucket truck and starts to explain to me why he can't fix it, talk about your "Duh' moment. So he calls for a bucket truck then tells me he will start on the house side and when the other guy gets here they will get it fixed.

So the bucket shows up, he and the kid tech talk for a minute, the kid tech walks over and says "the bucket truck guy has it under control, I have to go" and drives away. The bucket guy is in the air while the kid tech leaves, the bucket guy comes down and says"where the hell did he go?I have to have help with this wire crossing the street" I help with that, the kid never returns.

Now here comes the city electrical crew. They have to access the damage to the pole, they tell the cable guy he'll have to leave extra wire on the damaged pole. Plan is made and the mission except for replacing the pole is done.

Now back to the truck, done, I start the truck and have functioning stuff. I just finish putting up tools and who walks into the shop?
