I know of 2 charter schools that are giving kids a stellar education.
The rest are just taking in the money and letting the chips fall where they may.

Big difference between public schools and charter schools is that charter schools have diminished accountability to the tax payer. They call themselves public schools when convenient or private schools when it's convenient.

If a public school is failing--the superintendent and principal do not walk away with thousands or millions of dollars.

If a charter school goes belly up--the superintendent or owner has pocketed thousands or even millions.
DMN did a story on a man who opened charter schools in the Houston area, and after a few years closed them but had $$ in his pocket. He came to Dallas and repeated the process.
