It means that without a doubt the engine is being completely lubricated.

Guess none of those folks ever owned a GM product with a 307 in it then.

It is a good idea to check your oil level once a week or at every fill up.
If you don't know how, you shouldn't be driving, IMO. At least ask someone to check it for you.
