Things I hate about Colorado

First of all it's too cold. It's 60 degrees at 8 AM right now. Why should you have to put on a coat to go outside in the morning. Rediculous!

Then the view is often obstructed. For example here's what I see looking out of the picture window. Can't see very far because of those damn mountains.

When I drove to Denver in June I noticed that there were no commercial billboards along the interstate. What's up with that?

Right at the bottom of that picture there is a busy road. But, you can't see the cars going by or hear them because of all the stupid trees in the way. There's nothing more boring that just sitting there staring at some trees and wondering what kind of cars are going by that you can't see.

I lived in Colorado for a year, back in the 1970s.
They don't like Texans. There was a story everyday in the Rocky Mountain News derogatory to Texas or Texans. People there are extremely rude, at least they were when I was there. Most of them are Californians or Yankee transplants who don't like visitors coming to Colorado.
I was there on assignment with my company. I was glad to come back home.

I enjoyed the scenery and the weather, but I didn't stick around long enough to interact with many people. The man at the desk at the hotel was pleasant, and he had family that had lived in Richardson.

But Colorado hatred of Texans is well known.

I was there right after the Cowboys beat the Broncos in the Super Bowl. I was hated everywhere in that state!! The folks there are not fun!

Then there's the critters. In Texas we have rabbits eating up our gardens. In Colorado it's moose!
They run around like they own the place eating up all the flora and fana. Imagaine if you had to wake up every morning to a mamma moose and her twins chomping away on your petunias.

Have I dreamed it for about 10 years?, or do Texans spend half their life talking about..Texas is the only worthwhile place in the country.

That could make the rest of the country react a little weird, don't you think?

I never talked about it, at all.
That's the last thing you want to tell anybody there.
I would get into trouble when I had to show my drivers license.

I was thinking more along the lines of how and why other parts of the country may view a Texan the way they sometimes do.

Everybody that lives in a beautiful location hates the tourists.

Tourists are, as a group, badly behaved revelers with no respect for the residents. You can either be them or endure them! Most of us have been both.

I would like to see those long suffering Colorado jackasses have their way and the tourism stop. I think that's exactly what they need. That $17 billion can be better spent somewhere else and those 144,600 jobs can disappear.

"Colorado hosted a record 60 million visitors who left almost $17 billion in the state in 2012

That tourist spending delivered $918 million to local and state tax coffers in 2012, which translates to $483 for every household in Colorado...
Tourist spending also indirectly supported 144,600 jobs with earnings of $4.3 billion in 2012. That's down from an all-time high of 148,200 jobs with earnings of $4.2 billion in 2008."

A neighbor across the road said they had a big black bear last night. He has some mixed breed Alaskan husky dogs. They really made a racket.

Another thing. It rains too much. Yesterday I was in Ft. Collins. It poured down rain. Lot of street flooding. The traffic there is as bad as Plano. Lots of wrecks. Drove back up to the mountains and it started raining again. This morning it's still raining. Wish I could send some of it to Texas.
The real estate market here is even crazier than Texas. My nephew just sold his home in Ft. Collins in 3 days. He had only owned it for 5 years and sold it for $125,000 more than he paid for it. It's another real estate bubble.
