After the concrete truck pulled the cable wires off of the pole, the city decided to replace the pole.
Today is the day, went from a simple pole replacement to a complete rebuild from the transformer to the house, in a few minutes they are going to kill everything.
The topper is they have our driveway blocked with all manner of stuff laying in the street and on both cars.

Sounds like my last go-around with AT&T. The neighbor across the street joked that he thought we had rented a room to an AT&T techie because a company truck was parked in front of our house practically day and night for about a week.

Did the city decide to replace it?
It's usually the electric company that maintains the poles and decides to replace them or not.
Either way doesn't help the mess.

The city is our electrical provider.
So when they dropped the meter out, they found one of the hot wires in the weatherhead had been overheated at some point, told me it had to be replaced before they could hook us back up.
I asked if I could do it, they asked are you the home owner? Told them yup, they said go for it. Ran into Denton grabbed some #2 wire and got back home, they were still here, 15 minutes later I had the wire run and they slapped the meter back in.
Took them longer to hot stick it , clamp the weatherhead and put the meter back in than it took me to run 3, 15 foot runs of #2.
