I was working at Edwards AFB, living in Lancaster. I was at my bosses house watching on TV. We couldn't afford one. What an amazing thing to see!!!

Watching TV..couldn’t see anything..nothing much to hear either.

I was watching with my wife, and my Mother at my house till it was over, around 2am Dallas time' My three month old son slept the night away in his crib. Missed it all. (He is a 50 year old now) It was black and white coverage, some static along the way but all in all a decent picture of the first step and the ONE SMALL STEP speach was clear and just perfect for the situation, so most thought in later years.
America at its best

I was on summer vacation as I was a teacher.
My sister and her family (4 kids and a husband) were visiting from San Antonio.
We watched, image was bad on TV.
Later that weekend we went to Six Flags.

We watched it on our B&W set in our den with some family friends in Munday, TX. I remember someone had given my dad some seedless watermelons (supposedly developed in Munday) and there was watermelon after the event. I was 10 years old at the time.
