Here is the feral kitten we are trying to tame.
We still have not been able to touch it, but it follows my husband and lets him get close. Tonight he happened to see it up in the desert willow tree in our front yard.

What a sweetie. I had an orange tabby once, very smart. I also tamed a stray male cat that had been out on his own for years. Used boiled chicken and just kept talking to him while he ate. He soon got used to my voice and would wait for me to come out to feed him. Had him in no time. Good luck!

Husband made a toy last night---a fishing pole type device with a string and a piece of cloth on the end.
Sweetie took to it--they played awhile this AM.....we'll reel it in before long, I think.
