We have more grandsons that are now ready to hunt than we have stands. We built a 4'x8' blind. We can literally have 3 people in there. I lowered the window bottoms to make it easier for the you younger boys to shoot. We are going to town tomorrow to buy paint and caulk.

Karen and I sat in the porch swing this morning drinking coffee and watching the sunrise and I told her that if she made sure it was maintained she would be able to see our great grandsons hunt out of that blind.

I didn't mention it, but I let Tanner run the chop-saw. I was going to let him try the nailgun but almost got neutered by Karen when she saw me showing him how it worked. He also got to make most of the measurements but they were all verified. Lumber is high.

Good for you. I feel that working with power tools teaches lots of good things; and it is a great skill, to boot. Both my kids took shop class in jr. high; son built the coffee table that sits in our den, he did a great job. At some point, I know he is going to want to reclaim it for his own.

I could not agree with you more. Even if a man makes a living with his mind, knowing how to do his own yard work, oil changes, flat tire changes, drive a nail, etc is a good thing. Imo.
