And now every celebrity will be compelled to take to Twitter to express sorrow.

Here's what I jus posted at the "other place."

Tough racket..show biz. You have to know how to be endlessly creative,.but when the stage lights go out, you have to know how to be a real person with your feet firmly on the ground. The most creative ones seem to lose that ability.

I only say that because..I see he has "been battling severe depression."

Hmmmmmm

Actor David Carradine was found dead in the closet of a Bangkok hotel room Thursday with a cord wrapped around his neck and genitals, leading Thai police to suspect his death was not a suicide but an accident resulting from dangerous sex practices.
It's a joke son,I say a joke

Williams was a protoge of Jonathan Winters who originated improvsational comedy. No script, everything comes off the top of your head. As far as I know Williams was the only other person who could do it.

They may have had similarities. But Jonathan Winter managed to not come off as a crazy man.

Even when Robin Williams was playing a serious role he came off to me as a nutjob..just crazy as can be.

+1. Even in interviews he seemed off and never saw him carry on a serious conversation. To me his act was more of an impression of a speed addict than anything like Winters did. Sad he felt this was the only way out, but his bit wasn't my thing.

He struck me as someone stuck in the "manic" phase of bipolar disorder. I always wondered if he could not ever come down off an eternal high--which, IMO, would be a difficult life to live.

Johnathan Winters suffered from depression also. But, he was able to avoid suicide at least. So, there probably is a mental issue involved and a price to pay for the "gift" that they shared.

I thought he was a very good actor but his "comedy" drove me batty. Seeing him on a show like Leno was more than I could take. He just acted crazy, stupid. It was not funny. If it was scripted it was good. Out of the blue, it was just goofy and obnoxious.

Mike Shapiro would have been proud of the journalistic excellence Channel 8 was throwing down this morning:

"Tweet us your favorite Robin Williams moment."

Drudge has a story of how he had "serious money troubles."

That's hilarious.
