Nine years in a Russian prison

Gee that's a harsh sentence for some THC vape cartridges.

Oh well, don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Will Biden get the black, America hating, lesbian, law breaker out of jail?

Yeah probably.

She claims it was there inadvertently. I kind of doubt that. But, was she warned how draconian the consequences were? A lot of Americans don't realize when you go to a foreign country all the rules are different? And that you have to really be careful in a hostile country like Russia? Was she properly warned about this?

Anybody that's stupid enough to carry around marijuana in a foreign country deserves whatever harshness comes their way.

Didn't this stupid dyke ever watch "Midnight Express?"

I'm sure DJ will swap a dozen or so terrorists to get this dumbass back over here so she can start kneeling and disrespecting the nation guy.

Whatever they do, I just want them to stop talking about this idiot in the news. We've got more important issues.

So, if they executed her, you would be OK with that?

I don't give a shit what they do with her. Other countries deal with lawbreakers more harshly than we do. It's up to each individual traveler to understand the laws of the land in which they are traveling.

"When in Rome..."

I take it as an informed view coming from someone who has actually traveled and worked in foreign countries. Repeatedly. For decades.

She broke the law in a foreign country

Doesn't matter what country

You really need a better argument.

Or is just painting with a broad brush the perfect approach.

Young, inexperienced people like that should not be allowed to go to Russia or any totalitarian dictatorship without being warned and throughly briefed on the dangers. Especially Russia with who we are involved in a proxy war! Otherwise, they can get in deep shit. I don't think they should even be allowed to go there now.

The Rat Party controls the White House, and both Houses of Congress. That is where the duty to get this malcontent release lies, not on any of us.

Having travelled to dozens of countries, many of them over and over, it never occurred to me to behave any other way other than to be as respectful as possible of laws and traditions in a world where I was just visiting.

Never in any of those 30 years, did I give one minute of thought to enter a country illegally, or to overstay a visa.

In either case, I would have expected to be arrested and quite possibly dealt with harshly.

Illegal drugs?..uhh..no.

Tomi Lahren stated it perfectly:

“Brittney Griner is a cautionary tale. Hate America? Think it’s oppressive? Go to another country, play stupid games and find out what oppression and ‘No justice’ looks like. Too bad too sad.”

With a few exceptions, the broad brush system works fairly well around here.

Our government gives you handy tips

Try following this advice when traveling overseas.

Please remember, if you're a normal Joe or Jane American,

Your case won't get national attention.

Arrest or Detention of a U.S. Citizen Abroad
One of the highest priorities of the Department of State and U.S. embassies and consulates abroad is to provide assistance to U.S. citizens incarcerated abroad. The Department of State is committed to ensuring fair and humane treatment for U.S. citizens imprisoned overseas. We stand ready to assist incarcerated citizens and their families within the limits of our authority in accordance with international, domestic, and foreign law.

Tips to Avoid Arrest Overseas:

Understand that you are subject to the local laws and regulations while visiting or living in the country – follow them.

Learn which laws might be different from the laws in the United States. We provide some information for each country on our Country Information pages. For more information on a specific country’s laws, contact that country’s nearest embassy or consulate in the United States before you travel.

We Cannot:

Get U.S. citizens out of jail

State to a court that anyone is guilty or innocent
Provide legal advice or represent U.S. citizens in court
Serve as official interpreters or translators
Pay legal, medical, or other fees
