Will we do anything about Putin?

Putin is reassembling the Soviet Union.
He's invading the Ukraine and will soon occupy it. He is also making veiled nuclear threats to the West.
The Ukraine is not a member of NATO, so Obama has an excuse for doing nothing.
Putin's next targets will likely be Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.
They are NATO members. We are pledged to defend them militarily.
Will we (Obama) do anything?

Our POTUS is not going to stand up to anyone. We're Putin's door mat until 2016.

Do you believe it's worth it to take the world to the brink of nuclear war over who governs the Ukraine?

Don't know. Similar feel to when Hitler invaded Poland. "Maybe he'll stop there, and we won't have to involve the whole world".

Similar? How? Hitler's invasion of Poland didn't threaten to end life on earth?

I think no matter which country or which president, nothing will be done, and Putin knows it.
No one wants to set off WWIII and so....hands are wrung, brows are furrowed, peace talks happen....but nothing will be done.
Putin knows it and is "having his way" with Europe........

I believe Nixon (with Kissinger) could have handled Putin better that any president in my lifetime.
They probably would not have used the military or needed to. They would have determined what Putin fears the most and exploited it.
They did that with the Soviet Union (via China) in the early 70s and had them eating out of our hand.

Putin is an elected president, not a dictator. Russia is a constitutional Republic not a dictatorship.

Ostensibly, so was the Soviet Union.

Since a lot of the world as willing to die, rather than live under Hitler's ilk, he did threaten to end life on earth in a way. Plus, if the German's had finished an atomic bomb before us, he may not have exercised much restraint in it's use.

Not true.

He was originally elected to be Prime Minister, but has since shuffled himself back and forth between that office and President..when his term would run out .

He is effectively a Dictator, since there is no way yet to get rid of him.

He didn't "shuffle himself" between jobs, he was elected each time. They can get rid of him by voting him out.

Putin is effectively a dictator.
He has taken over the media.
Every year he tightens the reins even more.
Opposition voices are either imprisoned or found dead.
He has even pursued his critics foreign countries and assassinated them- like Stalin did Trotsky.
