My great-grandson got married

Postby Sangersteve » Fri Dec 30, 2022 7:12 am

Interesting dynamic going on here.

First a little history.

His grandma was my ex's daughter.

When we divorced her kids gravitated to me, so I was more involved in their lives than she was.

The grandma is only 10 years my junior.

My ex bore grandma early, she then bore my grandson early and his wife bore my great-grandson pretty early.

Confused yet?

It get's better.

My daughter's ex husband adopted her son, my grandson.

Then they divorced.

The fun began yesterday when someone asked how we were related.

The scene was my (won in the divorce) daughter, her husband, her ex (the adoptive parent of my grandson, the grooms dad) me, my wife, and the questioner who was an in-law of the adoptive dad.

I just looked at her and shrugged my shoulders.

I think they figured it out.

Now the wedding, grandson's wife's family is Mormon so grandson converted and their kids are Mormon.

Grandpa Mormon preformed the ceremony.

He read from a script and messed it up totally, left out stuff and pronounced them man and wife, then had to be reminded to have them exchange rings.

Since grandpa Mormon doesn't approve of us heathens and adoptive dad really does not approve of Mormons.

Donna and I decided to skip the fireworks that might erupt at the reception.

Fun facts

Great-grandson is only six years younger than my real daughter.

My ex didn't attend her great-grandsons wedding.

I'm not sure what I had for supper

But it was brown, had ice in it, and came out of a glass bottle.
It's a joke son,I say a joke

Fireworks at the reception would usually be the most interesting & entertaining part of any wedding, but in this case . . .

I feel like I'm parked diagonally in a parallel universe.
