New study shows the cost of charging an electric or (as I like to call them) battery powered car is much higher than advertised.

True costs of fueling an electric vehicle, including excess charging costs and subsidies, is equal to $17.33 per gallon of gasoline, a new analysis found.

Not to mention the upfront cost, the lack of range, the environmental disaster of disposing of batteries, oh and yeah when they catch on fire you can't put them out, plus the grid can't handle them.

Other than those issues their great, as Tony would say.

I am in love with hybrids, but everyone wants to ignore them.

I purchased a Ford Fusion Hybrid in 2010 and still love it.
When I get where ever I am going and turn off the key, the dashboard tells me my MPG for that trip. I can get 54 mpg sometimes running errands. On the highway, going 61 gives me really good mpg.
I haven't found a hybrid SUV that I like. I keep hoping though.

Two things that will keep me always driving NORMAL cars.

1. The government is trying to force me to change..I don’t react well when the government tells me what to do or how to spend my own money.

2. EVs are for liberals..I don’t want to be mistaken for one of those.

I'm thinking about getting one of the new Grand Highlander hybrids. I love my Highlander, but the 3rd seat is tiny.
