For the women:

If a woman strikes, hits, slaps or punches a man, do you think that this woman should expect to be hit back?..or do you believe that there is never a time when it is ok for a man to strike a woman, even if the woman strikes first..just a general poll..not looking to argue.

And this is NOT about Ray Rice, or anyone else in the news.

My spouse hits me: I call the cops and my attorney the next day.
Me: I'm not hitting anyone.........If I hit, then call the cops and the attorney.

Men do not hit women....period. If your life is truly in danger from a woman, you can shoot her but I don't think hitting her is going to help in that type of situation anyway. A man can always over power a woman and subdue her if necessary, I can't imagine a situation where it would be necessary to hit her.

I'm not sure how to overpower a woman without hitting her..maybe that's because I'm short and small.

That is how I would overpower anyone.

And I do not understand..you can shoot her but not hit her.

But..you don't need to make it about yourself.

I accept you would hit no one, and your spouse would not hit you..same for my house.

..but it does happen.

My son had a crazy girlfriend that attacked him with a steak knife and after he took that away a claw hammer. Then she punched on him a while. He was on the phone with 911 while part of this was going on. The Poleece show up after 20 or 30 minutes and she started bitching to them about how he was holding her down.

She went to the Calaboose, he didn't. However in our modern times I believe if he had slapped her he would have been in 10X the trouble she was in.

I don't believe I could have restrained myself as well as he did.

That sounds like the explanation of why a woman should never hit a man.

My kids raised: You don't hit a lady

I CAN see a situation where punching a woman is warranted.... No man should take a beating from some bitch who thinks she can exploit the 'dont hit women rule'

I have never hit a woman. Had to restrain one though....
