So, a minute ago, you argued that higher priced imports will end up soaking Americans.

Now you’re saying..”no no no..the foreign companies will stop offering that product.”

So if planosteve manufactures a widget in Colorado and that widget sells for $10 bucks.

Plano's cost of mfg said widget is $9 leaving him a profit of $1.

Now here comes Chinasteve importing and selling that widget for $9 bucks.

Does plano go out of business by matching that price?

or hope that the government slaps a tariff on that import that allows plano to compete?

It's just a scam. The whole idea of foreign procurement was to lower the landed cost by purchasing overseas not to make more money for the govt. not to make the rich even richer. And once you decide to go that route you are locked in forever.
