Not much to cheer about this season. Injuries. Cold bats.

Today the Rangers are below .500 for the first time since Bruce Bochy became the manager.

As long as they're still in touch with the division lead, there is no need to hit the panic button, but this is really ugly right now.

+1 As those stud pitchers start coming back online, things should turn around.

And now Jon Gray is on the 15 day with a groin injury.

The Rangers lost to the Marlins last night, 8-2...

All 8 Miami runs were scored off pitchers that shouldn't even be on the team. I believe that's the only positive way to look at that game.

This team is going to have to start scoring more than 2 or 3 runs per night if they expect to win. Offense was never supposed to be our problem, but it is.

It appears that Nathaniel Lowe has been put into a straight platoon with Ezequiel Duran. He's been sitting against the left-handed pitchers for the past several games.

Looking at Lowe's advanced stats, there isn't much of a different between his RHP and LHP splits. The place where he seems to really struggle is against power pitchers.

Last night's 2-1 loss to the Tigers was really frustrating.

Forgot to mention: Scherzer and Gray both pitched to hitters yesterday. Gray may be back on the hill before the end of the week.

50 years ago tonight was 10 cent beer night in Cleveland.

Here is a link to a current Cleveland-based story about that night:

Eovaldi must still be on a pitch count. Except for the one HR he gave up early, he was cruising until pulled at 71 pitches. Then Leclerc served up what would be the winning run. Several runners stranded on base, including Langford at third.

After last night's 14-2 blowout loss to the Mets, the Rangers now sit at 33-39 for the season. They are now tied with the Astros, 9 games behind the Mariners. This season is getting pretty ugly, and it seems to be slipping away.

Jon Gray thinks he was tipping his pitches last night.

Adolis Garcia has been just awful since May 1. He needs to get his shit together.

Pitching help is on the way (maybe), but the bats need to wake up.

So it was Robertson and Yates that lost the game last night.

The Rangers are now 10 behind the Mariners, and 7.5 behind the Royals for the final wild card spot...

Could this team be sellers at the deadline? Scherzer, Robertson, Yates, Jankowski, Grossman, and Knizner are all candidates to be traded if that's the route the Rangers decide to take.

Adolis Garcia was absent from last night's lineup and was not called on as a pinch hitter when the bottom of the order came up with the game on the line in the 9th. Is he hurt? Was he being sent a message by the manager?

I don't think that right now Garcia can be counted on for a clutch hit late in the game. I was not surprised that Bochy didn't use him. Another bullpen meltdown, but Lowe was a possible extra run if he hadn't made a base running mistake.

Other than Smith, Seager, and Semien, every hitter on this team has been a liability this season. In a nutshell, that is why this team is 7 games under .500. The pitching has been good enough to win most games.

Maybe the bats are waking up. Langford hit his first grand slam today.
Let's see what Scherzer's got tomorrow.

When Latz loaded the bases last night I thought "BOHICA." Thirty seconds later - grand slam.

Corey Seager just took a pitch off his wrist and immediately left the game. This team is just snake bit this year.

The Seager wrist injury is probably the kill shot on this season. I think it's time to trade some of these expiring contracts and restock the farm system.

Lorenzen had a bad night and the five game winning streak came to an abrupt end. With Thursday being an off day, I don't understand why Bochy didn't go to the bullpen sooner.
