What a cluster f that was

Postby BigTex » Mon Sep 15, 2014 10:43 pm

I had to drive to Denton this evening for a family matter. Getting north or west of Richardson was IMPOSSIBLE because of all the traffic going around the mess at the Bush Tollway and the North Dallas Tollway. All of the trucks were still on the ramp when I came back home, so there will probably still be problems in the morning. Fortunately, I will be going south.

I felt read bad for the people caught in that huge traffic jam. I guess the best way to get to Denton would have been north to 360 and then west...but that route was probably overloaded with cars.

What's wrong with taking 35 north to Denton through Carrollton and Lewisville? Is that a huge mess too?

You had to get to 35. So did hundreds of other drivers.

That was the heart of the problem......where Bush and I35 met--(more or less) and everyone being diverted to surrounding streets and backed up to Waxachie. :D

I was just up that way on Sunday and no one was being diverted on Sunday afternoon.

uh...the "wreck" had not happened yet.
I guess you missed it, but a HUGE piece of machinery slipped on the trailer and was hanging off the overpass for over 11 hours on Monday.
It was positioned in such a way that if it slipped, it would have fallen to the road beneath the overpass it was on.

Here is some footage of the incident

I had the wrong intersection--but it backed up to I35E and no one was going anywhere.

Meanwhile, today in Lancaster a Truck fire blocked everyone this AM>
