Hundreds of thousands of Israelis protest Nut Job's failure to free hostages!

Hundreds of thousands of people have joined protest in Israel after bodies of six of Hamas hostages were found earlier today in Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said at a press conference they believe the hostages, who were captured during the 7 October attack on southern Israel by Hamas, were killed shortly before the bodies were found in an underground tunnel complex.

People took to the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, many clad in Israeli flags, to call for the Israeli government to make a deal with Hamas that secure the release of the 97 remaining Israeli hostages.

In Jerusalem, thousands of people, some of them weeping, gathered outside Netanyahu’s office and blocked roads.

In Tel Aviv, hostages’ relatives marched with coffins to symbolize the toll and broke through police lines and onto the Ayalon Highway, with some chanting “policemen, policemen who are you protecting” and “shame, shame”.

“We really think that the government is making these decisions for its own conservation and not for the lives of the hostages, and we need to tell them, ‘Stop!”‘ said Shlomit Hacohen, a Tel Aviv resident who took part in the protest.

The protests came hours before Israel’s leading trade union called a general strike on Monday after in a bid to pressure the government into ensuring the hostages are released.

Trade union federation Histadrut announced the strike to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to secure the release of the hostages.

Histadrut represents hundreds of thousands of workers across sectors such as transport, education, agriculture, and retail.
