Yeah I bet. Smells like a lawsuit settlement to me. I seriously doubt he would have suddenly resigned like that for being unfaithful. Why would his wife want that?

One rumor was that he "came on to"/groped an Asian reporter.
If that one is true, it would explain the resignation.

Other factor: He said something about needing to focus...to be good as a manager.
If his wife just found out about an affair, I'd say he could not focus. I also wondered if he had a full blown affair and his wife said that he WOULD leave the area where the other woman would be. Since he said that he would miss the DFW fans, it tells me he won't be back here.

Whatever, it is his issue to solve and people can quit speculating....but those in the club house probably know/suspect who was involved.

We don't know anything about the relationship between Wash and his wife, so we know nothing about what she might or might not have demanded from him. I think the point of the Mexico story was that his wife trusted him enough to quit her job on his say-so, and he wants to get that trust back.

Some of the puzzle pieces fit together for me - the rumored affair with an Asian reporter is plausible since there is a team of reporters covering Yu Darvish. Whether it was a one and done or an ongoing affair, the damage to the marriage was enough to make it more important than anything else.

"I look to the future and getting back into the game and continuing my career." I don't think he makes that statement if this involves a lawsuit or civil charges.

Unless there is a tell-all book from a credible writer, there will always be questions about what "really" happened.

The Rangers were the best they have ever been under his leadership and they loved playing for him. I doubt they cared about his love life. The only thing that would have affected his managing would be a legal stink raised by either his wife or the other woman. Now that legal battle will be fought in New Orleans with occasional blurbs revealed on DFW TV or news.
