I am surprised this has not gotten more attention from the media. Of all the Texas counties that touch the Rio Grande all but two--Presidio and El Paso--voted for Trump. This includes Starr County (Rio Grande City), which is more than 97% Hispanic and probably nearly all the exceptions are federal employees. Trump carried it by 57-41. Webb County (95% Hispanic) had not gone Republican since 1912 and I doubt that any of the other lower Rio Grande Valley counties had either. These are some of the most heavily Hispanic counties in the country, and the average Republican margin is higher than for the state as a whole. I wonder how these figures compare with those of Mexican-American communities at a safe distance from the border.

I'm trying to imagine what the atmosphere is like in the Sheriff's Offices where officers appeared in ads for Collin Allred and Ted Cruz.

It sure looks like it only took Biden and Harris four years to prove that open borders are not popular.

The hope was that legal immigrants would rise up to support illegals.

Turns out that was not a good plan.

Funny how nobody wants the country flooded with criminals, except liberals.

You could only believe that if you consider fleeing countries ruled corrupt dictators a crime. So, will 45 round them all up and ship them back to the crooked south American dictators they were fleeing? I don't think so.

Besides the fact that most of the South American countries are not ruled by “corrupt” dictators, a large percentage of the illegals have been coming from Asia and Africa. And a substantial number of those are Chinese that have been sent here to destroy us in a variety of ways..and Muslims that don’t need a mission..there’s is inherent.

Venezuela is a country that fits your South American stereotype, accept..as President Trump has pointed out..the dictator there sends his criminals and mental patients. They’ll be the first to be sent back.

52% of men age 18-44 voted for Trump. I'm not sure yet how that breaks down by race/ethnicity, but Trump got more votes in nearly every demographic. Harris was a weak candidate, and that's why she lost.

eta: I found this very useful interactive tool that breaks down demographics six ways to Sunday. So far, the only demographic group that I can find that voted in greater numbers for Harris is women with graduate degrees, with a 2% increase from 2020.

However, 55% of Hispanics aged 18-30 voted for Trump. Only 43% of Hispanic men over 60 voted for Trump.

But the big surge was +10 with young voters. They are growing up.

I went through a period of my life voting Republican. But as I matured I realized I didn’t want to be a part of what the party had become.

It could be that they are growing up, but I think it is more that young people are realizing that they have no hope whatsoever under Democrat leadership.
