First world problems

Issues in my world

When we remodeled the kitchen about 5 years ago.

My bride declared we didn't need an automatic dishwasher as she had quit using ours.

Just two of us, only ran the dishwasher a couple of times a week, would rather have the extra storage space.

Now to the problem

No she doesn't want a new dishwasher.

It's the dish drainer that is causing consternation.

I noticed that we would get a new one every couple of months.

One was too big, another was too small

It didn't drain well, silverware was on the wrong end

Glasses didn't have a rack on the outside.

I'm thinking the only resolution is

Paper plates and sporks

What's a correct correction path forward?

It's a real head scratcher

We use lots of paper plates.

We wash everything before it goes in the dishwasher, but we still wouldn't want to eliminate the dishwasher.

I'm amused by the dishwashing soap company that runs the ads telling you to run your dishwasher every day, even if it's only a couple of items. That's just a scam to sell you more soap.

We had the same problem with dish strainers.

..the answer?

Drying mat!

Only way to go.
