This morning, before dawn Syrian time, 9-23-2014 the US airstrikes on Syria began. Local TV crews gave the best coverage of course. I watched CNN, but they are far away in Iraq and Turkey, so naturally CNN has nothing fresh or accurate to report from that long distance. CNN does do a credible job on the info coming from Washington, DC. The CNN report from DC lacked important information. They stated the names of the cities in the far EAST of Syria which were struck, but they did not give the name of the place WEST of Aleppo hit. The area they hit is the countryside of IDLIB. That area is 1 1/2 hour drive time EAST from Latakia, my home. Our area is safe, and nothing has happened here in Latakia. The problem with air strikes in IDLIB area, is the fact the city itself has no terrorists, only the rural countryside was infested with terrorists. Those terrorists were Al Qaeda and their local affilate named Free Syrian Army. However, Obama and the Congress just sent 500 million dollars of weapons to Free Syrian Army.
I think the reason that CNN refused to state the name of the place hit in the West of Syria, Idlib, is probably the fact that there was no ISIS there. This is the problem, US airstikes will hit ISIS and will hit places that have never had ISIS as well. Blind leading the blind.
