2025 Texas Rangers thread

After an 8-2 start, the Rangers are now 9-7. The problem is a familiar one: the Rangers can't hit. In the just completed three-game series where the Mariners swept the Rangers, the Rangers scored a total of 6 runs.

The Rangers changed hitting coaches this winter, but that didn't make any difference.

This team needs to figure out how to hit the damn ball.

Best team in baseball for a few days but that sure didn't last.

History tells us that we don't play well against Seattle. Either there or at home. Patience.
Seattle leads the all time series 383-368

The last two nights should restore a little more confidence in this team...

Mahle having a strong start, so I expect an injury for him soon.

We'll see Ohtani at DH but he's not expected to pitch until later in the season.

Sweeping the lowly Angels at home was nice, but then that other team from LA came to town...

We've got to find a way to get Pederson, Burger, and Semien going. I'm not all that worried about Semien. He always starts slow. However, I've never seen those other guys do it here. We spent a lot of resources to get them here.

The Dodgers shut the Rangers out twice over the weekend.

We're still waiting for the bats to wake up. Maybe a three game series in the minor league stadium in Sacramento will help.

NY screwed the Rangers on the review of the play on Langford at second.

Just like NY screwed the Rangers in 2023 when they ruled Jonah Heim blocked the plate and overturned an out call at home.

I've placed a bet against Ranger hitters by steaming A's starter Osvaldo Bido in one of my fantasy leagues tonight. I'm hoping the Rangers make me regret doing that.

Tough week for DFW sports. Stars playoff games start at 8:30 and Rangers-A's games start at 9:00.

Ranger hitters did make me pay for betting against them in last night's victory over the A's.

Joc Pederson's slump now stands at 0 for 41.

Another pulled hamstring for Corey Seager will make Josh Smith the everyday shortstop for a while and free up some at bats for somebody else. Perhaps Dustin Harris?

The juggled lineup looks like a winner.

Is there nobody at Round Rock who can perform better at the plate than Pederson?

Also got to see Jose Leclerc in an A's uniform. Left after 7 pitches with shoulder soreness.

Pederson was a key free agent acquisition. We don't have much choice other than to wait for him to get going.

Leclerc still can't throw strikes consistently, and he's been getting knocked around when he does throw strikes.

Bad outing for Rocker, but Pederson finally got a hit.

Seager to the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain.

It was a bad outing. But there is still something there... for maybe next year...

Hate that Cory is hurt.... again.

Stayed up until midnight to watch the Rangers piss away a win. Taveras error was a killer.

Rangers found a creative way to lose to the Giants Sunday.

I've had it with this offensive ineptitude. This year's hitting coaches suck as bad or worse than last year's hitting coaches. It's time for Chris Young or Bruce Bochy or somebody to make a change.

There are a lot of talented hitters on this team, but they are failing in every facet of the game, especially the situational hitting. They need better guidance.
