I am going to let 2 of the grandsons try to take a couple of hogs this weekend.

You had posted on the old board about having good success with making your
own bacon. I would appreciate your input.

Make sure none of the hogs is an albino. Otherwise, you'll get the Spanish Inquisition.

In my experience, a lot of wild hogs aren't that great, too tough and lean. But if you were to trap em, feed em for a couple months then ya got something.

Agreed. The mature ones are given to some people n town to make barbacoa.
I have taken a lot of youngsters and they are good eating.

we had a free range pig when i was growing up.... couldnt keep him penned.

wasnt the best meat after the slaughter.

i like the fattening idea
