:(
I fear my phone has troubles. It is only 2 years and 3 months old. Today, it was OK, (turned the phone off during event) and when I got home the screen was black...phone dead. I thought perhaps it had somehow drained the battery, so put it on the charger... That was at 4. It is still dead--can't get it to turn on, nor respond in any way.

Off to phone store tomorrow.

Did you try removing the battery for a few minutes?

Personally, I'd hit it with a big hammer...

May not fix it, but I bet you would feel better...

Go to Batteries Plus and get a new battery. My S4 is 2 years old and is on it's 3rd battery.

I just had the battery in my iPhone 5 replaced for free. If you got one from the time they first were released in September 2012 through March or so you can get it replaced by Apple for free. Details and serial numbers are on their website. It took about half an hour at the Apple store at Willow Bend for the scheduled replacement.... $75.00 value.

BTW, the Samsung Note Edge is being released in the USA on November 18th.

Isn't it illegal to keep a cell phone longer than two years?? Thought you have to get a new one once yours turns two.

Actually if you keep it for more than two years and had a contract, the provider loves you since you're still paying them a monthly subsidy. As I have the new battery now, I plan to use it as an advanced iPod when it is replaced. They're still out of stock on the iPhone I think I want as of Monday, so I'm biding my time.

We are with T Mobile so there is no contract.

You don't get your phones and upgrades through T Mobile?

The last phone I did not buy from T mobile but it is a T mobile phone. My hubby just had his stolen so we just bought one from t mobile. We are paying it off over 24 months but we otherwise are not under a contract. We could pay the phone off tomorrow if we wanted and there would not be any contract. At least that is what I understand it to be.

Pretty much the same thing. I could pay an early termination fee to get our of my contract if I wanted to.
