Murder rate in U. S. drops again in 2013

The murder rate in the U. S. dropped again last year according to FBI figures, falling from 4.7 to 4.5 per 100,000. This is a new record low since the FBI has kept figures that can be considered reliable and complete (the late 70's). The rate in Texas was 4.3 and in Oklahoma 5.1.
