It seems like I remember old cars with what looked like a small radio antennae sticking out the bottom edge on the passenger side.
It helped when parallel parking. You could hear it scraping the curb to indicate you were close enough.

They helped to preserve those expensive whitewall tires. Do you remember when you could get a visor that went over the windshield? For some reason, my Dad still has one for a car he hasn't owned for more than 60 years.

I never understood the need for those windshield visors.

I remember them. It seems like they came on old Dodges or Buicks.

In the days before tinted windshields the external sun visors kept the sun from shining too brightly into your eyes.

I think they were an aftermarket item. You could buy or paint them to match the color of the car. You could also get a prism to mount on the dashboard so you could see overhead stop lights blocked by the visor. For all I know, you can probably still get curb feelers, visors & prism.from JC Whitney.

The thing in the picture is a tennis ball. You hang it in the garage so that when you car window touches it as you pull in, you know you are far enough in for the garage door to close. I saved money and hung a used RX bottle instead of splurging for the kit pictured.
