Racial and social critics took to Twitter last night to complain of Darius Rucker singing the Irving Berlin classic,”White Christmas” at the 82nd annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center in New York City. To many, a black singer mentioning anything “white” so close to the decision regarding the officer-involved death of Eric Garner demonstrated a profound insensitivity for the feelings of black people.
