Natural gas connections

Installing a new pool heater.
Can the gas connection be a flexible pipe? or do i have to go black pipe all the way.
i want to be up to code.

not finding a lot googling

this is a replacement. gas line is already there.... 1 foot away.

just wondering about connecting

The new one that I bought and installed came with a flexible connection.

eta: Disregard, this was an ordinary house space heater, I don't know anything about pool heaters.

Well. I am seeing some flexi pipe at home depot..... still looking into code.

The install drawing I saw has a flex line, between the gas control valve and the piping from the meter.

my drawing showed a straight black pipe.
i think I will just check with home depot helper guy. i bet he will know. i have had good luck with these old plumbers that work there.

from what i am seeing is that some flex is for indoors only.

SCORE!!!! found the right stuff with the help of a 80yr old home depot worker
