My granddad was very important in my life. We spent a lot of time camping out and the nights around the campfire helped mold
my way of thinking. One of these days I will share some thoughts and info about some of it.

Anyway, back in the 20's he bought a double barreled 12. Name on it is Paragon. I am sure it was probably thru a catalog. He had a
stroke when I was ten and could not hunt anymore. He gave me the shotgun and I usually killed a rabbit, squirrel or quail for the
campfire meal..

I own a lot of firearms of all types. Some of them very expensive and others not so much. That shotgun isn't worth much money, but it is
priceless to me. One of these days I will have to decide whether to give it to Tanner or Trey.

How about the rest of you?

Thanks ralph, I really appreciate it. Like I said not worth much, but priceless to me.
I still use it for a shotgunning. I have several other doubles but don't use them much.

Again, thank you!

Back in those days any department store or other retailer could buy shotguns from the manufacturer and have them stamped with whatever house brand they wanted, without serial numbers. The Paragon shown at the link looks like the Stevens I used to have and was likely made by them.

Paragon was a trade named used on J Stevens made guns as said earlier, Stevens made good solid firearms. The Baker shotgun company made a model called The Paragon, also. However this was a little earlier than the 20s.

Ralph the French never made any bad shotguns, do you still have it?

My only shotgun is a 20 gauge Mossberg with a variable choke.

My favorite gun is probably the single shot Stevens .22 my daddy gave me when I was very young.

I think mine has a serial number on it but I am not sure. I am out in the shop working on finding some folks out
on the left coast, but when I go in the house I will pull it out of the safe and check.
Yeah, I am also doing some other fun stuff on the computer too. One of the advantages of being an
independent contractor. :D

Its a tie between the 12 gauge full choke w/ cutts compensator model 12 my dad gave me 30 years ago and the 20 gauge model 12 my mom gave my daughter 20 some years ago which I purchase 10 or so years ago from my daughter, which never left my house. I have 2 addition 12 gauge barrels, I don't recall which chokes they are, open / modified ?

eta; favorite to hunt doves after this season is an Italian made side by side hammered 12 gauge that was imported by Stoeger Arms Corp before Beretta bought it, another one from my dad.

I have one in 20 gauge also imported by Stoeger, mine is the Brescia model, not the higher grade Italia Model that has the silver finish on the locks. I just made an educated guess.
