Oh goody more free stuff

President Obama on Friday will propose making community college tuition-free for “responsible students,” launching what officials described as an ambitious plan for the federal and state governments to widen access to higher education.
Under a program dubbed America’s College Promise, administration officials said, an estimated 9 million students a year nationwide could benefit. The average tuition savings for a full-time student at a public two-year college was estimated to be $3,800 a year.
Obama’s goal, said Cecilia Muñoz, the White House’s domestic policy director, is “to make two years of college the norm — the way high school is the norm.” …
In scale, the proposal’s cost appeared likely to range into tens of billions of dollars over a decade. New federal spending, especially of this magnitude, are likely to face stiff resistance by the Republican-controlled Congress.

Oh goody! More over educated jobless graduates that won't even consider anything that requires physical labor. Just what we need.
The Republicans probably won't agree, but for different reasons. They don't want to waste one penny that they could be using for more wars.

Yes, let's go with the wars instead.

Don't see how anyone expects this to go through Congress.
I'm all for an educated population, but I'm also in favor of my pocketbook not being tapped.

Simply another Rat scheme to drive up the cost of education and line the pockets of the educrat/commies, IMO.
Oh and purchase the votes of young dumbasses with your tax money, and further devalue higher education.

And when it gets defeated in Congress, Republicans will be blamed for only supporting higher education at elite white universities.
You know, the race card.

Why does this need to go through congress? This is the imperial president.
ETA: Constitutional limits do not apply to Barack Obama. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell agree with me.

That was my first thought too, Mark.
