.223 ban

In yet another move to infringe on firearms owners across America the Obama administration is trying to ban one of the most common projectiles for the wildly popular AR-15 rifle. By designating .223 M-855 62-grain projectiles as, "Armor Piercing", they will prohibit these popular and inexpensive bullets from getting to those of us who like to shoot without spending a lot of money. The reality that these bullets are not armor piercing at all doesn't seem to matter to the rabidly anti-gun Obama administration; instead they seem to have an agenda to push forward.

It will not happen. But the mere hint of the ban will cause a buying frenzy. Ammo companies will love it.

A litmus test for any 2016 presidential candidate should be a pledge to rescind every Obama executive order on his/her first day in office.

Homeland Security has stockpiled 2.5 billion bullets and they don't want American citizens shooting back to be able to do much damage.

I have never owned or even fired a .223. We do have some city relatives that are into doing the spray and pray type shooting. I allow them to come out here and shoot on our range. Anyway, I decided to look up the armor piercing question. It turns our that ap ammo is available for the .223.

I would guess these idiots trying to ban this 223 round know nothing about it, just because its associated with the dreaded AR15, it must be bad. It's a .22 caliber bullet.

The BATFe has "banned" a crap load of specific types of ammo over the years that may be fired in a handgun, this is just another type of specific projectiles added to the list.
