Vacation plans??
Vacation plans??
Trying to lighten things up over here a bit, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any vacation plans yet this year? Spring and summer will be here soon. I would really like to take the girls to the mountains this summer. It's always cooler and might even find a little snow. Thinking about New Mexico since it's less driving. And summer rates should be cheaper I would think.

If I don't buy any Land this Spring I may go up to Ontario Fishing, the Weather is generally cool up that way.

We have a friend in Sulphur Oklahoma and like to take short overnight trips up there. I didn't realize how pretty it is up there. Lots of trails, lake and a fried pie place!!

My sis and I planned a trip to Palo Duro Canyon last year - never made it in part because Harry (11 year old Poodle) was diagnosed with diabetes. As of March 31, 2014 all travel plans are off.

If the deal works out I may be fishing along the Pease River for the elusive dry land perch.

But there's no such thing as fried pie.

Oh yes there is. Apparently you've never had this delicacy.

You can't afford to get in the car and take a short trip in Texas? I'm good at finding cheap motel rooms.
I also want to take the girls on the Texas State Railroad. I've never been either. It seems to be cheaper than the last time I looked into it.

Looks like it is Canada and more Canada for me.
We are going in May, then back in October for birthdays and back to Canada for Christmas.
In October, we are going to see family for a weekend, then go over to Montreal and check it out for 3-4 days and then back to Ottawa and then home.

Ah Grandpa, I know you've had a cold winter and horrible driving conditions. I don't blame you at all!

When I was a kid there was a fried pie place on South Lamar in Austin. Barnett's Fried Pies. You could go there on certain days and buy a big paper bag full of reject pies for next to nothing. Loved Barnett's! None of that nasty sugar coating on the pies.
