Turkey is between Childress and Lubbock, about an hour west of Childress. Was home before San Angelo.

Why would you go to Newkirk even in good weather? To admire the architecture of the Kay county courthouse?

I served in the Navy with a guy from Turkey. He used to say, "Turkey is a town in Hall County, where we haul cotton, haul water and haul ass as soon as we are old enough".

Heavy sleet here in Heath. Or maybe it's freezing rain. I'm not going out to make sure. I've got my coffee so I'm good. I can see the Lake Ray Hubbard bridge and there is a jackknived 18 wheeler westbound I 30. I have seen one vehicle make it up our hill, surprisingly

Southern Tarrant & Dallas are not that bad, at least the part I traveled this morning; nothing like the drive in from the Panhandle last night.

I30 from Grand Prairie to Downtown Ft Worth was pretty clear about 10 am....even the bridges. It looked rough in the mixmaster first thing this morning.
