For those who want to know the truth about what exactly went on in the camps, I say this is one of the sources to get: not opinionated and give you the facts to draw your own. The best part of this report is that it made me rethink the "holocaust" and ask questions. Not that it didn't but, was it on the magnitude that hollywood has portrayed it to be, or should we even call it holocaust at all? Research and read for yourself, is all I can say. The Leuchter report was the forensic examination of the so-called "gas chambers" of Auschwitz. The report found no significant trace of Prussian Blue cyanide residue in the "gas chambers". He further found that the chambers were not properly sealed, vented or designed for the proper dispersal of gas. As a consequence of his candor he had his career and marriage destroyed. However, both his test results and conclusions have been elaborated and confirmed by several subsequent investigations by people holding the scientific credentials Leuchter lacked, including one by the Polish Institute at Cracow. Leuchter's investigation is consistent with the suppressed German camp records not presented to the Nuremberg court which show that 150,000 died at Auschwitz, mainly of typhus and other diseases. The Zyklon B was used for delousing, not killing. Fred Leuchter might be likened to Gallileo Galille. He suffered in his time but ultimately the truth he revealed will stand. --john thames

lets get'er going , a good polite discussion . As to me , I'm old enough to have read reports and accounts of the Nazis and the holocaust in about 59 at the age of 10 - 11 . It was new history as I was reading about it and I certainly believe it happened . He11 as a young guy I lived on Miami Beach for awhile and lots of old Jewish men in Miami Beach showed me their Nazi tattoos and told me their stories . I worked as a handyman so I was fixing , painting inside old Jewish peoples apartments and apartment buildings plus I worked in a Jewish kosher hotel so I got lots of information .

In the late 60s I dated a man whose father helped Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson prepare cases for the Nuremberg trials. Too bad Hardie Hollers is deceased. He would be one of those who could, and did, clarify the reality of the horrors.

There are a whole lot of anadotal "holocaust" books about people dying in gas chambers. But, of the few books written based on examination of the evidence, none support the theory. Some of these "gas chambers" locked from the inside, not the outside. The doors had glass windows. They did not have seals around the doors. Also, no means of safely evacuating the gas so that the bodies could be removed.

There are a lot of fake Holocaust survivors.
There was an old couple a few years ago, who claimed they met at Dachau, survived and later married. They wrote a best selling book about it. It never happened.
Any event of importance is going to attract people who falsely claim to have been there.

Civil War veterans are another group that contained a lot of phonies.

Fred Leuchter is a dubious character.

The Nazis didn't just murder Jews, they executed Russians, Christians, Gypsies, the Mentally Ill, Physically Infirm, etc.; but not in the sheer numbers as the Jews. Don't overlook the other victims.

The Nazis were out done by the Soviets and the Red Chinese in the shear numbers of political murders; and the Turks were in the running.

No one can hold a candle to Government, when it comes to murder.

Probably Pol Pot was the worst mass murderer of all time in terms of the proportion of his own population that he killed (as much as 40% according to some calculations).

good point RedOak , good point about govs being the best at murdering . I see lots of claims where the claim is that religion has murdered the most but I think that it is governments .

Government is a Religion to many.......

I wasn't there at the time, but most of the books I see are ancecdotal. In other words they are not based on evidence. The few books I know about that are based on an examination of evidence raise a whole lot of questions. Maybe you can recommend one that doesn't.

It must be the books YOU are reading Steve. My father's best friend liberated one of the death camps in Germany.
When I was stationed there in the 60's I really liked the German folks. Most had no Idea of what was going on and
the government was out of control of the people.
