Bullet ban

As promised, President Obama is using executive actions to impose gun control on the nation, targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives this month revealed that it is proposing to put the ban on 5.56 mm ammo on a fast track, immediately driving up the price of the bullets and prompting retailers, including the huge outdoors company Cabela’s, to urge sportsmen to urge Congress to stop the president.

I sure don't know how it can be stopped . The usual means of calling and writing 'congress' doesn't seem to work as mrobama just does as he likes . I mean , mrobama is just on telly saying in so many words that he is just going to do as he likes . He just says that those that don't follow his rules will face his consequences . Repubs 'cowards' don't seem able or willing to do anything .

It seems the Founding Fathers left a loophole when they wrote the 2nd Amendment to protect our right to bear arms, but not ammo, & Nobama forced a truck through it.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if he discovered that our conversations might be viewed as Sedition and that because of the ongoing crisis in the middle east he suddenly has the power to restrict freedom of speech.

Similar bullet bans have happened before.

Steel Core Chinese, 7N6 5.45, certain 5.7x28 FN rounds....

This is just another slice of the baloney stick.

Yeah..even I have one.

Are there other choices for ammo for an AR 15?

I think I predicted this a couple of years ago. As soon as the govt. stocked itself up with ammo, it would prevent civilians from buying any.

I think the M193 is better, and is still available.

This is crap
just like the other bullet bans.

mostly , for me , its simply the Principle of the thing RedOak . I don't want to see any ammo banned . As far as your AR Greg , AR will only operate with .223 or 5.56 , read your barrel inscription but I think that you can shoot both as its essentially the same thing . Looking for correction by anyone if I'm incorrect .

You may safe fire 223 in a 5.56 chamber, shooting 5.56 in a 223 chamber is not recommended, although I do so depending on the firearm.

The principle was violated years ago, this is just the latest violation.

I hate the BATFe with a passion, and the turd in the Whitehouse also, but crap like this occurred under Republican as well as Rat administrations.

Evil black pistols are the reason for this latest assault on the 2nd, Sig P556 being a neat example.

I am building a AR Pistol in 300 blackout this morning, the barrel has not arrived yet and with the snow it maybe next week before it arrives. When my form comes back I will SBR it.

I think that its led by mrobama [thanks mrobama voters and supporters] , course a 'bush' might do or push the same thing . Wait till mrobama gets wind of the latest murder of 8 in Tyrone Missouri [Texas county] .
