I believe this country is headed for a European style socialist society. We will be a second or third rate power - both militarily and economically - before you know it.
This didn't start with Obama but his policies have greatly accelerated the fall. There is nothing that can stop it. It has gone too far and has gone on for too long.
Republicans in office may slow down the process a little, but we are still headed for the same place.

Let's elect Democrats and get it over with. Let's hit bottom so we may be able to start rebuilding a free society.

well , if real conservatives can't get a real conservative to vote for then why vote repub . That's my thinking anyway . Example would be 'j.bush' versus Hilary . They both want the same thing on the issues that matter to me except for maybe military which I think 'bush' would be better on . With a Cruz [for example] [maybe walker] though there would be a choice of what looks like a real conservative versus Hilary

If I were 30 years younger, I might be looking for another Country to immigrate to.

Trouble are one are as good as the Country I was born in.

I vote the person not the party, so I'll be watching to see whom the parties trot out as their candidates, and the inevitable character assassinations, personal follies/faults/etc etc that will follow.


Stopping the financial hemorrhaging of this country is possible, though not pleasant for many.

What Bill is saying is what I've thought for 30 years. But, hitting bottom doesn't solve the problem. A lot of countries have thought they could run an empire. Every one collapse and not one ever reorganized and came back to amount to anything.

Let me put it another way:

If George III and his successors had been reasonable, would the USA have ever existed?

The best thing for our country was to have been ruled by a tyrant in 1776. It fomented rebellion and a love of liberty.
Maybe the best thing for us now is to be ruled by a absolute socialist dictator. We're headed for one sooner or later, sooner is better.

Bill I think you are on to something, hence the programs to import millions of third world peasants and reduce Americans to dependence on the dole, destroy
traditions, history etc.

makes sense to me Bill , course if we get a Cruz or one of the other that seem to be conservative I will support them . Can't be a moderate and get the vote of mine .

I was referring mainly to the Grecian empire. Same with the Romans, the Ottomans, and the British. They never came back.

We are a much larger and more powerful empire than any of them could have imagined. We have overturned the governments of about 85 countries and replaced them with puppets who we control. The Ukraine was only the most recent.

We are not an empire, and have nothing in common with the Roman, Ottoman or British Empires.
