...............Brookshires, and probably a bunch of other stores but that's the only one we have access to, has a cooler case with many varieties of beers that can be purchased for $10 a 6 pack. It's great because if you don't like one brand you only have one bottle to hold your nose and drink. I'm not much of a beer drinker, I am more of a wineo. But, Bob has started buying a 6 pack each week for us to sample. We split then critique a new beer most evenings. It's been very interesting and we've found some good..........and some horrible.......beers. We both agreed that Moosehead smells like deceased rat - won't be buying it again. And we both agreed that we really like Moose Drool. There have been some that taste like grapefruit - very odd in a beer, some too dark for me (don't like beer that tastes like coffee), and some too bland. But most are quite tasty and fun to sample. It's been more than a month and we haven't had a repeat beer yet. It's a fun thing for us to do. Yeah, I know we are very easily entertained.

Anyone else have a favorite beer?

If you're just having a Miller lite..out of the bottle or can is just fine.

But quality beers can only be appreciated on tap.

I'm leaving this weekend for 3 countries in Europe..places where pretty much all beers are high quality..wouldn't even consider not drinking them any other way than from a tap.

Yes, traveling has made me a beer snob.

That's pretty much impossible for those of us who live 100 miles or more from the nearest quality beer taps. Far as Miller lite goes - I'd rather drink water.

A bucket of ice cold Shiner, black please, a sunny Sunday afternoon and an afternoon of music is my favorite way to enjoy beer. An ice cold mug of Shiner warms up too quickly on a 100 degree day.

Greg is right for once. But, in Texas where you have to drive everywhere, I'd rather stagger off to bed than stagger off to the car. I like amber beer best. I like all of the beers from Rahr in Ft. Worth, especially Buffalo Butt. And it's widely available here. Avalanche from Breckinridge is very good. Also, 90 Schillings from Odells in Ft. Collins is good and Wal Mart carries it now. Moose Drool is good if you like a little darker beer.

For bottled beer, Bohemia is tough to beat, a Messican version of a German Pilsner.

I like most Shiner Beers, except their Bock, it tastes "Muddy" to me; and I like Bock Beers.

I am on a low carb kick, and I have drank less than 12 beers since last September.

Yes, if you travel that extensively for business I'm sure porch sitting is a joy. Heck, I don't travel and find porch sitting a joy.

And, Sue, how would you know what deceased rat smells like?? Heh....

My wife says 40 miles is too far to go for a full service Grocery Store.

For myself once a week would be often enough, or maybe even two weeks.

For those who don't know I used to have a job (director of a food bank) that entailed aquiring extensive knowledge and the ability to trap, dispose of, and prevent future infestation of scores of rats and mice. I had so many traps I had to keep a facility map to know where they were. The state health inspector became a special friend and was very helpful.

Yeah, once a week is plenty. I also have a nice big upright freezer and a great grocery list. To me the drive is well worth it to not have close neighbors and city sights and sounds.

I wouldn't make it in the boonies.

Besides the fact that we love having neighbors, we also like being able to walk to everything.

My street is long, straight and flat. It's everyone's favorite street to walk the dog, push the stroller or ride bikes..we love the parade..and we say hello to everyone.

My Spouse also says Childress is not a major City.......
