That would be the only good thing. Heard some state politician is putting up a bill to get rid of it. GOOD FOR HIM!!!!! Hope it passes.

And, you can change the time in preferences or settings or some such. Someone talked about that just after I joined. I had been getting the wrong time too.

I had to drive to Commerce yesterday evening. I-30 at 6 pm in the rain with all the trucks is no fun. I was glad to have the extra hour of daylight.

If it had been 6 am you would have been irked because of the dark. ;)

"Daylight Savings Time" is about the most illogical, asinine, ignorant Government Scheme know to man, and that is saying a lot ! :)

Do you remember the Texas referendum on DST back in the 1960s?
The Drive In Movie lobby was fighting it.
They ran TV ads with an old farmer saying the extra hour of daylight would burn the crops up.

In surveys large proportions of the population do say they favor year-round DST. They can't seem to see that keeping the clocks an hour ahead all year long is the same as abolishing daylight saving time.

Nixon put us on year long DST back in the 1970's. I think it was 1973.
He pulled it down because of the public outrage. In the Winter people were dropping their kids off at school when it was pitch dark.

It could be worse. Imagine if the entire US used just 1 time zone, like China.

Probably because some schools start at 7:30am. That's too **** early.

No, it's not. Without DST, it gets light at 4:50am in the summer, IIRC

If daylight saving time goes on a permanent basis, i. e. if clocks are set ahead one hour and left that way throughout the year, society will just adjust its schedules and we will be back in exactly the same situation as when daylight saving time did not exist.
