West Texas Home !

Postby Red Oak » Thu Mar 12, 2015 2:42 pm

Well at least in a few years when I retire.

I bought a little place on the Salt Fork of the Brazos.

A little cultivation, some breaks, some grassland, and half mile or so of River Frontage.

No house, no Cell Phone coverage, no Yankees, and no Mildew !!!! :)

A crap ton of Deer, Hogs, Turkey, Doves, some Quail, I even saw a Pheasant.

Steve I am going to put up a Cabin and Barn, until sometime in the future, if Mrs. Red Oak goes for it someday we will sell the compound and then we can build what we want.

Things can change, we might start feeling to crowded and move to Loving County or something.

Looks great!

I think I'll build a cabin right next door..and I have lots of Yankee friends that will love it there, too.

You're getting the wife to agree to live out there too?

It's pretty for getting away for a few days, but too far out there for me.

I would pay money to see that !!!! :)

There are some really fine Californians, in the San Joaquin, the Mohave, the Sierra Nevadas, that would fit right in.

I think I own the adjoining piece of land.
I'm building a half way house for violent parolees. I'll also be holding anti-gun rallies.
We'll probably see each other :)

If Lubbock or Sweetwater ain't got it, we don't really need it.

The reason we chose this place over some others, is that she said she could live on this one.

I remember reading about this area in some Texas historical fiction books. Nice to see a picture.

Glad you found the type of place you were looking for.

Personally I'm partial to trees and rainfall so it wouldn't be the place for me...........though I do like the no close neighbors thing. :)
Working to love my fellow person regardless : >

The fishing is sort of sketchy, like the water in the River.
