Granddaughter drives, she'll be 18 next month, as will our grandsons when they are old enough. Learning to drive a manual transmission is another subject.

The autodrive future of cars will happen, alongside normal cars. It fully replacing them is doubtful to me simply because I know the joy of driving slow n fast and that visceral feeling is intoxicating and addictive .

It won't be necessary.

Millenials would rather ride their bikes..the next generation will have no desire and no necessity to learn to drive.

not willing but they just slowly start outlawing things like they slowly reduce the numbers of Gross polluter cars on the high ways and in daily use JIP. Take 50 - 100 years , I won't be around and as said , kids will be happy with bikes and skate boards . Driverless cars will be said to be safer and might be so less death , less traffic jam disruption , less pollution so less global warming or cooling . Coming generations will probably be more subservient than the last couple of generations as they work for more hope and change , imo !!

living in the country will eventually be very discouraged or impossible for all but the very rich Sue [imo] . REWILDING of parts of the USA is happening in some peoples opinions and is a big topic in certain parts of the country . It is a big topic where I live there has been a push for at least the last 10 years to cut off water to independent farmers in an area that was just populated after ww2 by returning GI's that settled there on cheap land . These potato and hay farmers and cattle ranchers , dairy farmers can't make a living so they end up in cities and towns as they lose their land and way of making money because they have no water !! Long term plan but I'm in one of the least populous states in the USA but its considered beautiful and relies a lot on tourism and rich people retiring here . My area used to rely on logging and lumber from huge forests , farming and hunting and fishing tourism but now relies on wine tourism and retirement home castles , hospitals and real estate plus a couple universities . Anyway the concern from natives in this area is REWILDING . Just info from what I hear on local talk radio , newspapers , local people and my common sense as I see reintroduction of wolves and other wild life into the area !!

They may have to use the outhouse, unless they want to hold it or do it bear style.
