I'd love to see a picture of the ocean....

The most amazing views are at Point Loma. It's one of my favorite places on earth. I couldn't possibly go to San Diego without seeing Point Loma. Since I have a senior pass to all national parks, we get in for free. We have friends in Temcula. It's fairly close to San Diego (well, "Texas Close"). We meet them in San Diego, rented a van and went to Point Loma. I couldn't believe they'd never been there before. The second place is Cadillac Mountain. It's the first place to see the sun come up over the ocean of anywhere in the U.S. We've seen sunrise weddings there.

I'll be approx 60 miles north of you Saturday, and plan on enjoying a beer or 2 watching the sunset. Bringing along a 12 pack of Shiner Birthday beer to celebrate my dads 92 birthday next week.

Oh my goodness - we tried the Shiner Birthday Beer a couple of weeks ago. It was NASTY. Tasted like chocolate coffee grounds to me. Bob smelled it and refused to taste it.

It's wonderful you can be with your Dad for his 92nd.

I've never been either..don't think I've heard of it.

But San Diego is somewhere I've not spent a lot of time..go there once a year or so for an overnight stay when I've had work down there.

Friends and I came to the opinion its a coffee and chocolate frosting taste. Bother told me about having beer floats in Hawaii with a local stout, seemed appropriate to try one with a Texas beer on dads birthday.

GFB, Point Loma Is a point of land between San Diego bay and Mission Bay. there is a lot of Navy communications gear and a submarine base on the western part. At
the very end there is an old lighthouse and a place where you can get a great view of San Diego, Coronado, and even down ti Mexico. From My Mom and Sisters new house,
theu have a view of the city and North Island.
