Well, if guns are one of the biggest issues for you and the majority of Texans, why the heck are the cops so popular at this forum.

I've not heard of this case in Torrance...but in general, when you look at the country as a whole..the cops are not your friends when it comes to you and your guns.

Things may be different in Texas..but in most places..when it comes to the 2nd amendment..

..they are your enemy.

on forums in general , I find woman , veterans , military , cops and ex cops and to be the most supportive of policing in general . I see police as 'public servants' that should be tightly controlled but many police , military reject the thinking that they are public servants . I don't like the elevation of police over the common citizen . Since the Trade Towers attack I see police being put on a pedestal as first responders , same for firemen and anyone with a badge and I don't like the trend .

Police and I will just say that police are following the 'laws' no matter how onerous they are on the taxpayer / person . Laws are made by lawmakers that are elected and police enforce the laws as they are sworn to do . Plus , he11 , Police need their paychecks and benefits and retirement !! Its the perfect system for any government !!

agreed , and its just going to continue evolving with the noose getting tighter and tighter as More laws are made and passed , --------- Another subject but its the same for the military . As mentioned by another poster in a different thread USA military will eventually become a mercenary Military if it isn't one now .

I know a few recent Combat Arms Veterans; in my opinion they are the least likely of the Veterans to turn on Americans; the REMF's are in general more of a concern to me.

just thinking but USA police forces are probably hiring lots of combat trained veterans as police . After becoming police they need that paycheck and may just follow orders , doing what they are sworn to do .
