I have tried to maintain my music collection on my "new" computer and just cannot handle it the way I want. I have a program that I like, but needs to be run off line on an older computer. Does anyone know of a computer "shop" that sells good used computers that will run XP. I need a good laptop computer with the usual features plus an earphone jack.

Windows has a feature under which you can execute XP in later versions of Windows, I have used this method to run older Microsoft crap under a newer version of Microsoft crap.

A refurbished XP box might be hard to find because Microsoft doesn't support the platform anymore. Maybe you can find an XP disc with a license on one of the auction sites.

I'm strictly "on" and "off."

But I'm really good at it.

Yes, I still have my XP disc, but I am Windows 8. That's why I want to go back to an older computer, install XP as my running system, install the program I used for music and really never go "on line", just use the computer for my music only. All my music is on an external disc that I can hopefully plug into "that computer" and go with it. To add music, I would go back to my Windows 8 and send the music to my external disc and move it to my "Music Computer". Does that make sense?

are you looking for a $50 laptop? thats it?

otherwise, there are plenty of places that offer laptops with no OS. some custom builders.
