As far as the military, we have had a mercenary military for a long time now. It's been years since anyone I know has joined the military. At least since Viet Nam. So, to fight perpetual useless wars you have to get somebody to do it.

As far as the military, we have had a mercenary military for a long time now. It's been years since anyone I know has joined the military. At least since Viet Nam. So, to fight perpetual useless wars you have to get somebody to do it.

its just the principle of the thing , very un-American in my opinion Steve . Similar happened with Rome I think . Fill the ranks with furners that will do as told for money and favors . ---------------------------Hey , it was one spam , I'm not complaining .

Well, we are definitely following Rome down the tubes whether we have a mercenary military of Americans or not.

according to the WSJ, source the blogger used MANVI was capped at 1500 the last year, will increase to 3,000 this year, 5000 next year.
There are over 1,000,000 men/woman currently in our military, not counting the national guard.
That isn't filling the ranks.
