Earthquake felt in FB about 5 minutes ago.
I'm sure it will be centered in Irving.

Wouldn't it be something if there were a major earthquake along that fault ?

Some geologists say multiple small earthquakes tends to reduce the chances of larger earthquakes.

I have a Chesapeake gas lease.
I'm wondering if I should sell it.
I've been hearing rumblings that gas drilling may be causing these earthquakes.

I don't believe there are any wells near the Irving Dallas fault.

There is definitely a fault line in Irving....always been bad foundation issues in north Irving near that area. I read that there are some sort of injection wells in the vicinity which may be contributing to the problem.

I actually felt this one while I was at church in Downtown Irving (yes there is such a thing).

I read that there are two defunct Gas wells not far from the site, one never produced and they other shutdown; and the same article (I believe from SMU ?) said that there were no injection wells in Dallas County. Maybe it is caused by distance disposal wells ? Or maybe unrelated to Gas Production?
