Tomorrow I will be undergoing surgery. My doctor thinks I'll be able to go home tomorrow evening. He said "You have an issue, but you are healthy. Let's fix this issue." I'm ready. The cramps from my foot to my hip are almost debilitating.

I'm still waiting.....I hate afternoon surgeries. But we must keep the ORs busy. I made coffee at midnight hoping to avoid the "caffeine deprived headache". Surprisingly, I slept till the cramp hit.

I am home but they did keep me overnight. The surgery was 3 hours and I expected it to be an hour. I got out of recovery at 10 pm. It hurts like a son-of-a gun. I had a pain pill at 9:00 am so didn't even think about the pain to come. I called his office in tears. I'm very tough about handling pain and hated to ask for something. My nurse came in at 4 am, saw it and called in the charge nurse. I didn't even wake up till the two of them were deciding to mark all the borders. That's when I realized how much it hurt. I got morphine then. I posted a picture on facebook a liitl while ago. Steve is on his way to get it. AS you can probably tell, I'm typing with one finger on my right hand while keeping the left arm elevated. Somehow, knowing Steve will be home with it soon makes it bearable. But the surgery is successful! Dr Yau told the ward clerk to explain the law and we'd need to pick up the script at his office. Change of shift and we didn't GET THE MESSAGE. I've reached my limit typing but want to thank all of you!

Glad the surgery went well and that it's all past. As you know the pain is a temporary thing. Count each day as 1 day closer to feeling 100%. Blessings.

NO legs cramps last night! I only woke up when I changed position because I'd roll over on that left arm, but went right back to sleep. The birds were really carrying on. Either both Steve and I are not used to noise, or the birds are so happy with the lush green and so many growing things they sing all night long. Today is a different day. No pain pill is needed but the arm is still huge and black. In fact, there is more swelling but I've learned to go through doors a little slower after bumping into them yesterday. I'm sure I looked like a drunk.
Bill, Gibbie is doing great. He's still on our bed. I really needed him when they had the IVs in both arms. He was just right to lay my hand on to make sure the cath didn't pinch so much. I'd switch him from arm to arm. He'll be my buddy forever.
