Ocular migraines

Since they were mentioned in the other thread, I thought the ocular migraine deserved a thread of its own.

I have them from time to time.
Mine begin with the print on a page seeming to be wavy...like a grove across the page.
Then I begin to have colored zigzag lines--very similar to old cartoons that would have the "bam" and colored lines leaving the words.
All that stays awhile--maybe 5 to 10 minutes.

I have NOT had the intense headaches following, like many people do.

It's been 14 years since I had had one but I knew it wasn't serious and would go away in a little while. I'm just curious as to why after all these years....I thought maybe the anesthetic? Did you ever try to explain to a male doctor about a herringbone pattern? LOL! But the ophthalmologist knew exactly what I meant. They don't hurt and the only worry would be while you're driving.

Herringbone! That's it! My backwards deformed C is herringboned and the sections are prismatic colors. Thanks for that, Ann.

Are they seasonal for either of you?

Yeah, it was my ophthalmologist who identified what they were for me too.

I didn't know anyone had headaches with them.

I'm glad that's the only kind of migraine I have.
