I can understand why he did it though it was really none of his business. The hateful reactions to his action are just plain crazy.

Two residents out here, about 3 miles north of us, have confederate flags prominently displayed. One is flying on a pole. The other is serving as a front window curtain. My feeling on seeing those flags is that the people are racist rednecks. Certainly not the impression I'd want to project to the world............unless I was proud of being a jerk.

He needs to be charged with grave desecration, at the very least, and he is one sorry son of a bitch.

I fly mine from time to time, and you can pound sand if you don't like it.

IMO he was wrong. It is a historic confederate cemetery.

You can't change history no matter how you try. Now there's going to be much more division in that town.

I'd say he deserves any and all that's coming to him for this.

The part where he said it was to protect his son was totally ridiculous.

+1 The descendants of Confederate veterans are rightfully proud of their heritage. Only a fraction of Southerners actually owned slaves. If association with slavery were really that hurtful, the Democrat Party would dissolve itself, or at least change its name. Its the party of both slavery AND Jim Crow (Communism, too, but that's a whole 'nother story).

And, FWIW, if Blacks really wanted to erase some of the sting of slavery, they would co-opt the whole Southern plantation thing and do the Confederate uniforms and hoop skirt cotillion thing themselves. Turn it into a generic St. Patrick's Day sort of thing. But then, they couldn't cry and assert their natural-born right to victimhood.

..and also of the KKK.

I can't tell you how many Democrat friends have been shocked to find all that out..some thought I was making it up.

The clincher (and when their head finally explodes) is when I tell them that.."the history of racism in America..is the history of the Democrat party."

You really should stop calling other people names, and then whine when they object to it, but maybe it is your hobby or something ?

I don't even know what race the lawyer is!

And I don't see how that would matter anyhow.

We both have said "Democrat". That's about as racist as you can get.
